Your visit email
If you play at a GSCaddie facility, you get one email after each visit. It is your session in a few minutes of reading: what happened, what changed against your usual, and one thing to work on. This article explains when it comes, what each part means, and how to stop it.
When it comes
- About 10 minutes after your last session of the day ends.
- One email a day, at most. If you played two sessions before it went out, they are rolled into the same email. A session after the email has gone out does not get a second email that day.
- A session needs 10 or more shots to count. Shorter sessions are not wasted: their shots ride along in the day's email, they just do not trigger one on their own.
- A late session near midnight still gets its email.
- Your facility has to have turned it on. If your facility has not, nothing is sent.
The email is for members. It never goes to a bay account, and only to an address you signed up with.
What is in it
Every number is the same one you see in GSCaddie, worked out the same way, so the email and the app never disagree. Each part only appears when there is enough behind it; otherwise it is left out or shows how close you are, rather than showing a number that would mislead. Shots you hit in a comparison are left out of the email, as they are left out of your averages in the app; you find them in Compare.
- Story of your visit. A few lines on what stood out: how many shots, how many clubs, and the one to three things worth knowing. With less data it is a plain summary and a note on what is still filling in.
- At a glance. A band of up to five numbers: your shots, the clubs you used, your sessions (when you played more than one), your minutes on the bay, which visit this is, your personal bests, and on a first visit your longest carry. After a course round it shows your score, birdies, pars, putts and minutes instead.
- Highlight cards. Up to three cards under the band: your longest carry on a first visit, or a new personal best when a club carried longer than it ever has (needs 10 earlier shots with that club); a strength from the swing analysis; and your steadiest club (the tightest carry spread, needs 2 or more clubs with 5 or more full swings). With only one such club, that club's average carry and top ball speed show instead. A day with more than one session shows a session strip in place of the cards.
- Bag map. How far each club carries across every shot on record, the same map as your Gapping screen, to show the gaps and overlaps in your bag. It needs 3 or more clubs with 8 or more full swings. Until then it shows the clubs closest to 8 swings as progress bars.
- Shot patterns. Where your shots landed, for up to three clubs with 10 or more full swings that day.
- Clubs table. Your average carry and spread per club, using full swings only. A club with under 5 full swings is shown faded and marked "few". Where your bay records them, club speed, smash factor, path and face numbers appear too.
- Trends against your usual. How today compares with your own baseline. A baseline needs 15 or more earlier full swings with a club across 2 or more visits in the last 90 days, and 5 or more full swings today. A change only shows when it is 3 yards or more and clear of normal shot-to-shot noise. Until your baseline is built you see "Baseline: n of 15" instead. The trends grid needs 2 or more clubs with 3 or more visits of 5 or more full swings.
- Patterns found. The same swing patterns and strengths that fault detection shows in Insights (see Fault detection): 10 shots for an average, 15 for a spread. With fewer you see the club closest to the mark.
- A drill. One drill from the library for a pattern we found. If there is no matching drill, there is no drill section. It is never a generic one.
- Course rounds. If you played a round, you get the scorecard (unfinished holes show a dash and the header says "thru N"), strokes gained once every hole is complete, and a comparison with your earlier rounds of the same length when you have two or more.
Spin uses full swings only, the same as the app. Findings can name your launch monitor, for example "than other EYE XO golfers", because the comparison is with golfers on the same one.
On your phone
The phone shows the core: your story, the at-a-glance band, the bag map, one pattern and the drill. The rest sits behind See it in GSCaddie. On a computer you see everything. If your email app ignores the phone layout, you simply get the full email.
Each section links to the matching screen in GSCaddie (Clubs, Insights, a shot, your round and the hole that mattered, or your session's shots), through sign-in if you are signed out. A day with more than one session links to your rounds and range sessions, newest first.
Stopping it
Every visit email ends with an Unsubscribe link. One click stops visit emails and nothing else. Your account, your shots and any other email you get from GSCaddie are not affected.
