About

I'm Matt. I've been a software engineer for 17 years, and I have a golf simulator at home that I play far more than I play real golf.
After a few hundred rounds I realized I couldn't tell whether I was getting better. Some sessions felt better than others. But I couldn't have told you whether my 7 iron carry had moved a yard in six months, or which club was costing me the most strokes. The data was there every time I hit a ball. It just went nowhere.
So I built something to catch it. It was for me at first. Then a couple of friends with sims asked to run it, their numbers started answering questions they hadn't thought to ask, and one of them put it in front of a sim golf group. The response was loud enough that I stopped treating it as a garage project.
That's GSCaddie. Every shot you hit in GSPro, captured on its own, turned into numbers that tell you whether the last three months of practice actually did anything.
I write and test every part of GSCaddie myself, and every release then goes to a small group of testers, sim owners running real rounds on their own hardware. They catch the things that only show up on somebody else's setup.
Support comes straight from me. Email matt@gscaddie.com and the reply comes back from the person who wrote the thing you're asking about, usually just a few minutes later.
The docs get the same care. Every number on your screen has a Wiki article explaining exactly how it's computed, because "trust the number" isn't an answer. The guides cite the research behind them.
And if what you want to know is whether this is still being actively worked on, don't take my word for it. The updates log lists everything that's shipped, with dates.
